Workshop: Sponsoring in SAA

Sponsorship is one of the cornerstone principles of SAA recovery, offering both newcomers and experienced members a vital connection to the program and its tools. This comprehensive FREE workshop is designed for anyone curious about sponsoring —whether you're considering becoming a sponsor for the first time, have recently begun sponsoring others, or are a seasoned sponsor looking to deepen your understanding and effectiveness. Through interactive discussion and practical guidance, participants will explore the fundamental question of what a sponsor truly is and the essential role they play in supporting another member's journey toward sexual sobriety and freedom from obsession.
The workshop will provide concrete, actionable suggestions on the sponsorship process from start to finish. Attendees will learn best practices for helping a newcomer get started in the program, including how to introduce them to the Steps, establish healthy boundaries, and create a foundation of trust and accountability. We'll also address common pitfalls and what to avoid. For those ready to take their sponsorship to the next level, the workshop covers a few advanced topics, and many useful tips.
